About Paula
In 2004, Paula founded PH Lowe Associates, LLC a coaching and management consulting firm in the Washington, DC metro area. She has over 25 years of experience in leadership development and career development. Her executive experience includes responsibility for staff, budgets and multiple functional areas in large organizations.
Paula has worked with leaders at all levels: Executives, Directors, Managers, Supervisors and high potential professionals representing a wide range of functional specialties including: law, finance, information technology, administration, marketing, communications, medical and scientific fields and security intelligence.
Paula has presented at national and regional conferences, including a presentation on Executive Coaching at an international conference of the Association of Talent Development (ATD). Paula has been recognized as a founding coach of two organizations that have received the prestigious ICF Metro DC Prism award for Excellence in Coaching. These organizations are: The National Institutes of Health Clinical Center and The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.
Her clients comment that her approach is practical and balances a style of personal warmth with a strong focus on helping her clients attain tangible results. They find her extensive management and leadership experience to be very valuable in her coaching.
Prior to launching her full-time coaching practice Paula created the first formal training program at NASD (now known as FINRA) and Nasdaq. She grew the function from its first course offerings to an organizational development department with comprehensive capabilities including leadership development, management and interpersonal skills training, team building, group facilitation, change management, computer training and in-house course design. Additional experiences include managing the Management Training function at Crum and Forster, a Xerox Financial Services Organization and creating the first Career Center for adult students and mid-career professionals at the University of Maryland University College.
Paula earned an M.A. from George Washington University and a B.S. from the University of Maryland. She is a graduate of the Georgetown University Leadership Coaching Certificate Program and is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coach Federation (ICF). She is qualified to administer and interpret the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, the Hogan Assessment and 360 feedback instruments including Benchmarks, The Leadership Circle, VOICES and the Conflict Dynamics Profile. She is experienced debriefing the OPM and the DNI 360 assessments and has extensive experience conducting 360 interviews. She holds the SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certification.
Her greatest source of pride is her family. She and her husband worked full-time while they raised their son and daughter. In her spare time she can be found with her family or friends. She loves to travel, go to the movies and theater. She has a been a perennial beginning student of swing dance and people tell her she often hums unrecognizable tunes.
